Eugene R. Kranitz, formerly of Wise River died Feb. 27, 2010, in a local nursing home.
He was born in Butte Sept. 14, 1941, to John and Stephanie (Kuss) Kranitz. He attended local schools, graduated from Butte High School and attended college in Kalispell where he earned his degree. Eugene served his country in the United States Air Force and on July 21, 1973, he married Marge Griffith in Great Falls.
Mr. Kranitz worked as a heavy equipment operator in the logging industry.
He is survived by his wife, Marge Kranitz of Butte; sons, and daughters-in-law: John and Ann Kranitz of Battleville, Vt. and Will and Ashley Kranitz of Lawrence, Kansas. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Parker and Danielle; and his brother, Jack Kranitz of Keizer, Ore.
Cremation has taken place in Butte. Memorial services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home.
