Arlene E. Ottsman died June 23 at the Crest Nursing Home in Butte.

      She was born Dec. 20, 1938 to Helen and Andrew Hislop and grew up in Butte.   She graduated from Butte High School in 1956.

      Arlene worked for Safeway in Butte and Omaha, Neb., before moving to Spokane.   She worked for Standard Oil while she lived in Spokane.   She then moved to San Francisco and lived and worked in the Bay Area for about 23 years before returning to Butte in 1985.   After returning to Butte, she worked as a caregiver.   She was a member of Gold Hill Lutheran Church in Butte.

      She was preceded in death by her parents.

      Arlene is survived by her children, Brad Ottsman and Elena Dunham both of California.
