Obituary notice for
Beverly I. (Baird) Schwartzenberger

Beverly I. "Sweetie" Schwartzenberger died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at home in the company of her family.

Sweetie was born the daughter of Walter and Irene (Lasky) Baird on March 26, 1938, in Butte.   She attended Blaine Element-ary and graduated from Butte High School.   She and Frank Schwartzenberger were married in St. Lawrence Church on Nov. 2, 1957, and were together in a loving relationship for the next 49 years.   Sweetie was Frank's best friend throughout their marriage.   Her family also had quite an influence on him, teaching him, among other things, the joys of camping, hunting and fishing.

Besides raising her family, Sweetie worked outside the home in various positions over the years with Sears, First National Bank, Montana Power Co. and Entech.   She retired in 1995, primarily to spend more time with her family.

Sweetie enjoyed reading, flower gardening and sewing.   She was happiest, though, when she was cooking, especially for family and friends on special occasions, when she and Frank were traveling with their fifth-wheel trailer, when they were staying in their cabin at "The Land" on Wise River with family and friends, or when she was attending one of her grandchildren's many activities.   Sweetie was a wonderful, loving wife, mother and grandmother, and a source of great strength and inspiration to her entire family.

In addition to her husband, Frank, surviving relatives include her stepmother, Dolly Baird of Lakeport, Calif.;   uncle, Ray Milliken of Georgetown Lake;   sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Mel Gardiner of Corvallis;   brother and sister-in-law, John and Cheryl Baird of Anaconda;   daughters and sons-in-law, Juli and Ted Connors and Beth and Jerry Sullivan, both of Butte;   son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Laurie Schwartzenberger of Butte;   grandchildren, Baili and Clint Connors, Sara and Shani Sullivan and Justin, Chelsie and Kalie Schwartzenberger, all of Butte;   nephews, Ron Gardiner of Newberg, Ore.,   and John Gardner of Hood River, Ore.;   and numerous cousins.

Out of respect for Sweetie's wishes, cremation has taken place and a small private service is planned.   The family requests that memorials be made to Butte Emergency Food Bank, American Heart Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
