Carol Lee Cross passed away Thursday at St. James Healthcare.   Carol was born in Butte Saturday, April 8, 1939 to Arthur and Olive Gerry.   She attended the Blaine School and graduated from Butte High School.

      She worked as a telephone operator for Mountain Bell and while she was working in Phoenix for Mt. Bell she married Norman Jay Cross on March 10, 1961.   Norman passed away September 11, 1981.

      Carol worked at several jobs including the Butte Job Service, Lydia’s and K-Mart where she received several awards including Employee of the Month several times.   She also sold Avon with her daughter.   Carol was a member of Ruth Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star where she had served as Secretary.

      Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law:   Keith and Marcia Cross of Daggett, Michigan, David and Carrie Dross of Rigby, Idaho, daughters and son-in-law, Christine and John Giovenco of Butte, Rhonda Lee Cross of Butte and Romelle Cross also of Butte.   Grandchildren include Jessica and Kyleigh Cross, Aleena, Olivia, Logan, Emily and Audrey Cross, Erica and Walter Johnson, Ashley and Nathan Truzzolino and Christopher Brasier.   Great grandchildren include Emma and Gracie Johnson.   Other survivors include her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Sally Kreis of Whitehall, niece and nephew:   Heather Kreis and Jeff and Katie Kreis and numerous great nieces and nephews.   Besides her parents and husband, Carol is preceded in death by her brother and granddaughter, Lindsey Brasier.

      Carol’s remains are in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home where friends may call Thursday morning beginning at 9 o’clock.   Funeral services will follow at 11 o’clock and interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.   Memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Rockies or the American Heart Association.   Express condolences at www.wayrynen-richards.com.
