Obituary notice for
Carma Jean (Smith) Mininger   76
May 08, 1938   ~   July 19, 2014

Carma Jean Mininger, 76, passed away on Saturday evening, July 19, 2014, in St. James Healthcare.   Carma was born on May 8, 1938, at home in Willow Creek, the daughter of Charles and Grace (Chapman) Smith.   She attended local schools and graduated from Butte High School.

Carma was an avid reader, she enjoyed fishing, a devout Catholic, but above all Carma was a loving mother.   A great believer in faith and family, Carma was an active member at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.   She enjoyed attending Mass and participating in prayer groups and Scriptural study until her declining health made it difficult to attend.   Though her life was often difficult, Carma never was one to dwell on her own situation.   She placed her own troubles in God’s hands in order to care for those she loved.   She will always be remembered for her thoughtfulness, kindness, and completely unselfish nature.

Carma Jean was preceded in death by her parents;   her daughter, Susan Mininger;   and her sister, Clarise Crain.

She is survived by her children, Gerald (Nancy) Mininger, Lois (Pat) DiFronzo, Charles Mininger, Dale (Mischele) Mininger, and Charlene (Stephen) Taylor;   her grandchildren, Shelby (Cameron) McCrief, Katy Mininger, Arron Mininger, Alexander Mininger, Sarah Schneider, Aidan Taylor, and Sean Patrick Taylor;   her brother and sister, Jack (Linda) Smith and Jody Barto;   and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend heart felt thanks to all who extended their kindness to Carma Jean during her illness, especially the staff at Easter Seals/Highlands Hospice, the ICU staff at St. James Healthcare, and Deacon John Uggetti.

Cremation has taken place.   A private celebration of Carma Jean’s life will be held at a later date.   Memorials are suggested to Easter Seals/Highlands Hospice.   Duggan Dolan Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.
