Carol Marie Grant died Friday morning at her home.

      She was born Sept. 12, 1938, in Butte to John and Della McHugh.   She graduated from Webster Grade School and Butte High School in 1956.   That year she went to work for the local FBI office, where she was a dedicated administrator until her retirement in 1995.

      On Feb. 27, 1965 she married Ray Grant at St. Joseph's Church.   They had two children, Alyse and Michael, whom they raised in Butte.   While Carol had no greater love than her children, she also enjoyed traveling with friends and family.   She was a frequent visitor to Mexico with her beloved aunt Pearl Anderson.   She also had a love for flowers and gardens.   The highpoint of these lifelong passions came last summer when Carol and her daughter toured some of the fine gardens of Europe.   Carol also loved music, both playing the piano and attending many Butte Symphony concerts.

      Carol will be deeply missed by those who survive her, including her husband, Ray Grant of Butte;   daughter and son-in-law, Alyse and Scott Curry of Dillon;   son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Ami Grant and granddaughter, Georgia Marie Grant of Bozeman;   brother and sister-in-law, John and Kathie McHugh of Newport, Ore.;   and many other dear relatives and friends.

      Cremation has taken place and disposition of ashes will be private.
