Obituary notice for
Darrell Dean Coffing

      Darrell Dean Coffing, 66, died Friday afternoon in St. James Healthcare.   He was born June 25, 1939, in Mott, N.D., to Floyd and Vivian (Christenson) Coffing.   The family moved to Butte when Darrel Dean was a junior in high school, and he graduated from Butte High.   He served his country in the Army, and on April 7, 1962, he married Sandra Hope in St. John's Episcopal Church.

      A carpenter by trade, Darrell worked for Sullway Construction for many years.   He enjoyed fishing and especially enjoyed duck and goose hunting.   He loved Yellowstone National Park and was passionate about the wolves and grizzlies there.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Connell Coffing.

      Darrell is survived by his wife, Sandra Coffing of Butte;   daughters and sons- in-law, Cyndra and Peter Mogayzel of Annapolis, Md.,   and Deann and Daniel Rutherford of Hamilton;   his granddaughter, Elizabeth Mogayzel;   sisters, Carolyn Phillips of Seattle,   Kaylene Forsman of Seattle and   Mary Knoell of Phoenix;   and numerous nieces and nephews.

      There will be no wake or visitation for Darrell;   however, friends are asked to join his family for funeral services Tuesday 1 p.m. in St. John's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Elton Smith officiating.   Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.   Memorials may be made to Johns Hopkins University Hospital or to St. John's Episcopal Church.
