Obituary notice for
Donald Edward Lembke,   79
Oct. 29, 1938   ~   Feb. 28, 2018

Our family lost its patriarch, a larger than life personality with a knack for taking care of people;   many others lost an irreplaceable friend and eight grandkids lost their Papa.

Don Lembke died Wednesday, February 28, 2018 in Missoula, Montana surrounded by his loving family.

Don was born October 29, 1938 in Butte to Gil and Martha Lembke.   He was raised in Butte, attended Emerson grade school, and graduated from Butte High School in 1956.   His classes from both schools continue to have reunions that Don loved, planned, and participated in.   From one said reunion he reunited with the second love of his life Lois Lynn Evenskaas.   Both got a bonus love they were not expecting and enjoyed.   They took care of each other until the end.

Don attended MT Tech for two years and then served in the U.S. Marine Corp.   During that time, he fell in love with his wife of 49 years Jane.   Don and Jane raised their three children in Butte.   Don worked for Nabisco for 30 years and owned the two Butte Dairy Queens with partners that became best friends for life.

One of his greatest joys were his cabins at Georgetown Lake.   He spent every weekend and spare minute he could there.   After retiring at age 50 he liked nothing more than tinkering and working on projects there and following son Chad’s Grizzley football.

He is survived by his “girl” wife Lynn;   his daughter and son-in-law Donel and Jim Ludwick, daughter and son-in-law Dana and Eric Syvrud and son Chad Lembke,   grandchildren Brooke, Lakyn, Marti, and Broc Ludwick, Ciera and Soren Syvrud, and Rella and Hudson Lembke.   He is also survived by his niece and nephews Janeen, Kent, and Curt Lembke.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jane Lembke,   parents Gil and Martha Lembke,   brother Ray Lembke, and numerous cousins and great friends.

Friends are asked to join with the family on Tuesday from 9:30AM to 10:30AM in Aldersgate Methodist Church for visitations.   Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 in the Church.   Entombment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
