Obituary notice for
Elsie Jean (Jenkins) Delmoe,   79
Dec. 13, 1938   ~   Mar. 20, 2018

Everybody’s favorite M&M waitress, Elsie Jean Delmoe, passed away on Tuesday in Butte after a sudden illness.   Elsie was born in Butte on December 13, 1938, the daughter of William and Margaret (Rinaldi) Jenkins.

Elsie was educated in local schools and graduated from Butte High School in 1957.   She went on to attend Kinman Business University in Spokane, Washington.   However, Elsie was not destined for a secretarial career.   It wasn’t in the cards for her to work in an office or live away from Butte.   She came back to her beloved home Butte and found her calling in life as a waitress.   She worked for many years at Fred and Millie’s, but she will forever be affectionately remembered for the more than 25 years she spent behind the counter at the M&M.   To Elsie, the M&M was so much more than a place to work, it was a second home;   her coworkers and customers so much more than people, they were family.   And the sentiment was echoed.   The mention of Elsie’s name will immediately invoke a smile from anyone who ever had breakfast at the M&M.

Elsie married Tony Delmoe, who preceded her in death.   After Tony’s passing, she later married Pete Delmoe who also preceded her in death.

Elsie’s life revolved around people.   When she wasn’t taking care of them, she was busy interacting with them.   She loved to talk on the phone with friends and catching up on all the latest gossip, as well as, visiting and playing cards.   Never a homebody, she often enjoyed just driving around Butte.

In addition to her husbands, Tony and Pete, Elsie was preceded in death by her parents;   and her daughter, Patricia Lynn Beckman.   She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Kim and Dale Krek, and Millie Benson;   her sons and daughter-in-law, Dean and Heather Beckman, Tony Delmoe, and Peter Edward Delmoe;   her grandchildren; Tiffany, Daniel, and Brittney Krek, Jordan and Brandon Benson;   and Austyn and Cody Beckman;   and her great grandchild, Kaylie Krek.   She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, James and Shirley Boldt.   Elsie will be greatly missed by her good friend of many years, Aretta Seymour.

Friends are asked to join the family on Wednesday after 10:00 am in the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel, with services starting at 11:00 am.   Interment will follow in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery with a further celebration of Elsie’s life to be held at the M&M immediately following services at the cemetery.   To anyone who is unable to attend the Funeral Services, the family still encourages you to join the celebration of Elsie’s life at the M&M throughout the afternoon and share your favorite memories of her.
