Frank H. Brasier, 74, passed away peacefully on Sept. 7, 2013, at St. James Healthcare.

      He was born in Butte on Nov. 26, 1938, to Phyllis (Hamilton) and Charles A. Brasier.   He attended Monroe and Webster Garfield grade schools and graduated from Butte High School in 1957.   While in high school, he worked on the family ranch at Divide.   Upon graduation, he went to work for the Civil Service and then went into ranch management until his retirement.

      On Oct. 21, 1960, he married the former Jean Haaland and together they raised three daughters, Vikki, Christine and Laura.

      In his younger years, he was an avid hunter and fisherman and always had a love of horses.   For many years, he belonged to the Butte-Silver Bow Sheriff’s Posse.

      He was a kind and gentle man who enjoyed reading and coin collecting.   His daughters and seven grandchildren were his greatest source of pride.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents and brothers, Charles (Bud) and Robert Brasier.

      Frank is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Jean;   daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Jim Keenan and their children, James and Eric of Butte;   Vikki and Dan Phillips and their children, Brian, Lauren and Julianne of Tualatin, Ore., and daughter, Christine Edgar and her children, Ryan and Josie of Missoula;   sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Herb Fillbach;   sisters-in-law, Joan Merrick and Pam Brasier;   nieces and nephews;   and his faithful dog, Pappy.

      Mr. Brasier’s remains have been cremated.   Private interment will take place at a later date.

      Memorials may be made to the Butte Food Bank, Animal Shelter, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
