Butte native George W. Kalafatich, a 30-year resident of Thompson Falls, died of brain cancer at his home on Sunday, March 8, 2009, his family at his side.

      George, a father of two children, entered the Air Force in 1956, and worked in retail in California and Thompson Falls, where he was also in real estate.

      Cremation has taken place.   A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 13 in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Thompson Falls.
