Helen Margaret (Carden) Lutz, 76, was born on Aug. 1, 1939, in Butte, Montana to Frank and Mary Ann (Lucero) Carden.   She passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sept. 18, 2015.

      She attended Emerson School, St. John’s School, and graduated from Butte High School in 1957.   She worked in the insurance industry and later, in the admitting department at St. James Hospital.   In 1977, she and her extended family moved to Kirkland, Washington.   She worked in clothing retail for many years after moving to Washington State.   She retired from Macy’s Department Store in 2013 after working there for over 20 years.   Helen loved to spend time with family and she loved the music of Engelbert Humperdinck.   She was active in his fan club and attended many of his concerts.   She loved to dance.   Over the years, she took many tap and jazz classes.   She taught aerobics in the 80’s.   She also loved to sew, knit, crochet, and embroider.   She loved fashion and was always dressed to the nines.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Ann (Lucero) Carden;   her husband, William Lutz;   and her son, Tommy Lutz.

      She is survived by her sister, Frances Nelson of Clearwater, Florida, and daughter, Terri (Lutz) Klemmer and husband, Ryan, and most importantly, her grandchildren, Austin and Jade Klemmer of Monroe, Washington, whom she adored.   She is also survived by her stepson, John Lutz, his wife Becky, and daughter Stephanie of Dallas, Texas, as well as many, many cousins.

      A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the LDS Kirkland, Washington Stake Center at 7910 NE 132nd St. Kirkland, Wash., 98034.
