      John Lloyd Carriger, 59, of 1646 Whitman Ave. died Saturday at his home.

      He was born June 07, 1938, in Butte to Fred and Helen (Sennett) Carriger.   He attended Jefferson and Grant schools and graduated from Butte High School. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1956 and was an air traffic controller.   A career military man, he served around the world including a tour in Vietnam.   He retired from the military in 1976 and returned to Butte that year.

      He worked as assistant clerk and recorder for Butte Silver Bow County and then was the DAV representative and specialist for Job Service of Butte.   He retired this year.

      He enjoyed fishing, hunting and attending sports events.

      He married Teresa Ferrusola on June 8, 1961, in Gibralter.

      Survivors include his wife, Teresa of Butte;   daughter, Maria Patelis of Clancy;   two grandchildren;   three great-grandchildren;   brothers, Jack and Clark Carriger of Butte;   and a sister, Kay Kelly of Winnemucca, Nev.

      Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home.   Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Edward Courtney officiating.   Interment will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery, followed by a reception in the Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home Community Center.
