Obituary notice for
Janet Louise (Reed) Rossmiller   75
May 26, 1938   ~   Dec. 25, 2013

Janet Louise Rossmiller, 75, passed away Wednesday December 25, 2013 at The Cottages of Grandview Rest home.   Janet was born to Everett and Catherine Reed in Butte Montana.   Janet remained a proud native of Butte until she graduated high school and moved to Bozeman to attend MSU.   She was active in many campus activities and a member of the Pi-Phi sorority, and earned her BA in microbiology.

It was in Bozeman where she met Don Rossmiller.   Don and Janet were married on September 4, 1960.   Their union resulted in the birth of two sons Michael and Scott.   Together the family spent many happy years on the family farm north of Great Falls.   As the boys became of grade school age Janet decided to put her degree to work and became employed in the hematology department at what started as The Deaconess Hospital, and later became Benefis.

Janet was very active outside of work as well.   She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Great Falls, where she served as both an Elder and a Deacon.   She was also very involved in the Great Falls chapter of PEO, the annual AAUW book sale, and a life member of the MSU Alumni Association.

After her retirement from the hospital, she spent time with her family and grandchildren which gave her great joy.   Janet enjoyed spending time outdoors and camping in Glacier.   The last few years of her life were split between summers in Great Falls, and winters in Arizona.

Janet is survived by Don Rossmiller, and her two sons, Mike, his wife Stacey, their children Matthew and Kaytlin of Missoula, her youngest son Scott, his wife Wendy, and their child Brady of Farmington Hills, MI.

Janet is an example of a life well lived.   All those who knew her, are better off for it.   She lived life on life’s terms, and was always concerned with the well-being of the people she cared for and loved.   When asked about her own wants and needs, she would always reply “Don’t worry about me.   I’ll be fine.”   She leaves us with a smile on our lips and an example of how to treat others with the dignity and respect they deserve.

The family suggests memorials to the Great Falls Chapter of PEO.

A Memorial Service will be on January 4, 2014, 10:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church.
