Obituary notice for
James Wayne Cadigan   64

      J. Wayne Cadigan died Friday, Oct. 4, the feast of St. Francis.

      Wayne was born to Leona and Jim Cadigan on Sept. 21, 1938.   He proved to be a faithful Bulldog and Bobcat after attending Butte High and Montana State University.

      Wayne married Marcia Field in 1958;   together they raised 6 children.   He balanced his commitment to family with many community activities including Toastmasters.   In 1974 they moved to Billings when Wayne was transferred with U.S. West Communications.  It was in Billings that Wayne began his extensive work volunteering with schools, fund raising for underprivileged children and serving in the Rotary Club.

      In the early 1990s, Marcia and Wayne moved back to their heart's home in Butte to be with their extended families.   After retiring from U.S. West in 1996 Wayne continued to work with the schools and became a member of the National Association of Mental Illness, an organization that improves the quality and access to mental health care.

      He was preceeded in death by his mother, Leona;   a son Chris, and infant twins, who are waiting to greet him in heaven.

      Wayne is survived by his father and stepmother, James and Jean Cadigan;   wife, Marcia Cadigan;   sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Bob Kruger;   sons, Ken, Dan and Wayne and his wife Nancy;   daughters, Cindy and her husband Paul Smith, and Tammi and her husband Bruce Allison;   grandchildren, Jim and Tom Cadigan, Corey, Kelly, Nathaniel and Troy Smith, Andy Price and Keeley Hages;   newest addition great-granddaughter, Kess Alexis Price;   mother-in-law Margaret Field whom he loved as a mother;   brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles and Ann Field and Sr. Patricia Field and several nieces and nephews.

      Friends and relatives are asked to join the family Monday after 5 p.m. in the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel.   Parish Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.   Funeral sevices will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel.   Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Catholic Church with interment to follow in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
