      Lawrence Mathew “Larry” Henderson, 73, passed away suddenly Sunday afternoon, May 12, 2013, on their way home from a weekend of camping with family and friends.

      He was born Jan. 3, 1940, in Redwood City, Calif., to Lawrence A. and Marie (Jelich) Henderson and was raised in Butte.   He attended Butte schools, including the Greeley, Butte High and Montana Tech.

      Larry served his country in the U.S. Army and he and Nancy Shutey were married in Reno on July 11, 1959.   Larry worked at General Electric, then Westinghouse until 1985 when he started his own business, Rocky Mountain Rewinding.

      He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish and loved his family.   Larry enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, four wheeling and was crazy about birthdays, especially his own!   A movie fanatic at heart, he enjoyed taking lots of pictures and videotaping.   He had a standing daily lunch date with his brother-in-law, Mike and friend, Gary, and a couple of his favorite things to eat were enchiladas from the Copper City Casino and a good hamburger with lots of onions.   He loved his pets, especially his cat, Loretta and dog, Pookie.

      Larry was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence and brother, Tom Henderson.

      Survivors include his beloved wife, Nancy;   sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Henderson of Bend, Ore., and Chris and Candi Henderson of West Virginia;   daughters and son-in-law, Carleen and Sam Green and Laci Henderson, all of Butte;   grandchildren, Kyle and Jacquie Welch, Lindsey and Layna Vaughn, Marti Ann Yochim, and Krysta and Kortni Henderson;   and great-grandchildren, Hazel and McKynzie Dutra.   Also surviving are his mother, Marie Barsanti;   brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Judy Henderson, Dennis and Diane Henderson;   brother, Geno Barsanti;   sisters, Darlene O’Rourke and Vicky Paul, all of Butte;   and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike and Kathy Shutey, and Rudy and Sandy Shutey, all of Butte.   Numerous nieces and nephews also survive and all will miss him deeply.

      His family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11.   Cremation will follow.
