Obituary notice for
Myrtle Lucille (Hicks) Lancaster   75

      Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Myrtle Lucille Lancaster, 75, of Wallace, passed away January 10, 2014 at the Silver Wood Good Samaritan of Silverton, Idaho.   She was born March 22, 1938 at Butte, Montana;   Myrtle was the daughter of William and Evelyn (Smith) Hicks.

      Myrtle attended and graduated from the Butte High School of Butte, Montana in 1957.   She moved to the Silver Valley in 1968 from Spokane, Washington.

      Myrtle had served as a special education teacher for the Wallace School District for several years and even after her retirement, she continued to substitute teach.

      Myrtle was first married to Gary Milan, Sr.;   they later divorced.   She then married Joe Lancaster on April 23, 1993 at Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.

      Myrtle loved and enjoyed her family and grandchildren, camping, gardening, picnicing, line dancing and attending country concerts.

      Myrtle is survived by her beloved husband Joe Lancaster of the family home of Woodland Park- Wallace;   six children Debbie (Neval) Perrino of Walsenburg, Colorado, Lisa Archuleta of Walsenburg, Colorado, Sheri (Steve) Brunner of Kellogg, Gary (Lisa) Milan, Jr. of Rathdrum, Idaho, Brian Milan of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, Scott (Vicki) Milan of Colorado;   three step-children Richard (Debra) Lancaster of Pinehurst, Idaho, Tarena (Josh) Wadsworth of Post Falls, Idaho and Jason Lancaster of Spokane, Washington;   sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren;   one brother Bill Hicks of Malta, Montana;   one sister Virginia Green of Clackamas, Oregon;   she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.   Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents.

      Cremation was held and Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Church of Christ Congregational of Wallace with Rev. Art Fleming officiating.   A potluck reception and a gathering of family and friends will be held at the church fellowship hall following services.   Inurnment will be held at the Osburn Cemetery at 2:00 P.M.

      The family suggests that memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, Tennessee 38101-9908.
