Nicolas (Nic) Knievel,   70

      Nicolas ‘Nic' Knievel died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010.

      Nic was born in Montana on Oct. 3, 1939.   He was raised in Butte, with his brother, Robert Knievel, by their grandparents, I.J. and Emma Knievel.

      He married Rusty Ketelsen in Butte in 1958.   They resided in Montana until 1973, and then moved to Eugene, Ore.

      Nic moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, in 1977 where he lived the rest of his life.

      Nic was preceded in death by his brother, Robert;   grandparents, I.J. and Emma;   father, R.E. Knievel of Butte; and mother, Ann Keough of Reno, Nev.

      He is survived by his wife, Rusty of Eugene;   sons, Nick and wife, Samantha of Boise, Idaho, Jeff of Bend, Ore., and Curtis of Torrance, Calif.;   daughter, Tan and husband, Sean McCarten of Eugene.   Nic is also survived by his mom, Jeannie Buis Knievel in Butte;   five sisters, Kristy and husband, Hugh Lawrence of North Pasco, Wash., Renee and husband, Bill Slaughter of Hall, Robin and husband, John Dick of Butte, Loretta Young of Reno, and Kate Boney of Eugene;   nine grandchildren;   and numerous nieces and nephews.

      Nic's family and friends considered him a master salesman.   He had a great sense of humor and said, "Being a master salesman made it possible to enjoy his unusual hobby, occasionally breaking into banks and leaving a few bucks!"

      It was Nic's wish in lieu of any flowers that a donation be made to your Humane Society.

      Private family services will be held at a later date.   English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d'Alene, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
