Obituary notice for
Peter John Enrooth   77
Jan. 04, 1938   ~   Jul. 25, 2015

Peter "Timer" J. Enrooth Sr. died peacefully at his home with his family beside him on July 25, 2015 in Butte, MT, at the age of 77.   He fought a courageous battle against a rare brain cancer.

Pete was born on January 4, 1938 in Butte, Montana, to parents Verner and Viola Enrooth.   He graduated from Butte High School in 1956.   He then joined the Navy Reserve and served from February 3, 1955 to February 2, 1963.   He then married Carol Davis on February 14, 1959.   They raised three children, Debra, Pete Jr., and Gayle.

Pete worked for the Anaconda Company at the Berkley Pit until he was employed by the Montana Power Company on July 6, 1965.   Peter worked 34 years for the Montana Power Company before retiring on July 1, 1999.

Pete was an avid hunter and fisherman and instilled that same passion in his children and grandchildren, often taking the family camping all over Montana.   Pete successfully harvested many trophy animals including elk, sheep, deer, and mountain lions.   His prize fishing trophy was a tarpon weighing more than 200 pounds.   Pete was a member and donor of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.   Pete’s favorite retirement hobby was making lamps, walking sticks, and bedroom furniture from diamond willow sticks.   Many of these items were donated to banquets to raise funds for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Pete was a man of honor who provided for his family, loved his family to his core, and honored his marriage to Carol, having been married for 56 years.   Pete was a man who worked hard and enjoyed the simple things.   He considered his friends family and was referred to as “Timer.”

Pete is survived by his wife Carol Enrooth;   loving dog Ruby;   his children Debra (Tom) Lewis, Pete (Shawn) Enrooth Jr., and Gayle (David) Marsh;   grandchildren Annie, Michael, Susan, Matthew (Brittany), Brandon (Erika), Tyler, Nicole, and Alexander;   great-grandchildren Olivia and Brooklynn;   and sisters Janet Welsh and Norma Ann (Cliff) Bare.   Pete is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.   Pete was preceded in death by his parents Verner and Viola Enrooth and brothers Verner Enrooth Jr. and Tiny Tim Enrooth.

Our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and father-in-law will be missed dearly.   We will cherish each and every memory and hold them close to our hearts.   Pete lived a great life, lived his life to the fullest, and would expect everyone of us to do the same until we are reunited again.

We little knew the day that God was going to call your name.   In life we loved you dearly.   In death we do the same.   It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home.   You left us peaceful memories.   Your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.   Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. –Ron Tranmer

      Love you, Grandpa (Timer)!!!
