Obituary notice for
Robert Gordon "Bob" Falcon,   78
Jun. 19, 1938   ~   Feb. 21, 2017

Robert Gordon "Bob" Falcon passed away Tuesday evening, Feb. 21, 2017, surrounded by his dear friends and the kind and caring staff of the Copper Ridge.   He was born in Butte June 19, 1938, the only child to Lowery N. and Muriel (Brown) Falcon.

Bob attended local schools, graduated from Butte High School and attended the Butte Business College.   He was an avid reader his entire life and was an avid fan of Butte Copper King's Baseball, the Butte High Bulldogs, the San Francisco 49'ers and the Giants.   He was a member of Butte Lodge # 1, Knights of Pythias and served as Grand Chancellor for the Grand Lodge of Montana.

But more than anything else, Bob will be remembered for his 37 years of dedicated service as the crossing guard at the Hillcrest School.   Bob started in 1974 and was the only paid crossing guard in the school district.   Bob shepherded the kids across Continental Drive in all kinds of weather and the only time he wasn't there watching out for the children was when he slipped on the ice and broke his ankle.

After his retirement, Bob enjoyed several trips with his friends including Mount Rushmore and Yellowstone National Park.   Bob was a kind-hearted person with a great sense of humor and always had a joke.   He was described by the Hillcrest School principal as "one of the most reliable employees I've ever seen in my life.   He's steadfast, decent and honest."   The kids simply described him as, "really nice!"

He was preceded in death by both his parents and although Bob was born into a very small family he was blessed with a huge circle of wonderful friends and caregivers including Linda and Thomas Ringo and Diane Chuprinski and their families.

Bob's remains are in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home where friends may call after 10 a.m. Monday morning.   Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Sandy VanZyl officiating and interment will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery.

Memorials in memory of Bob may be made to any organization for the benefit of children.
