Ralph Leo La Fleur   61

      Ralph Leo La Fleur died Thursday in Denver.

      He was born in Minneapolis on April 13, 1937.   Later his family moved to Butte where he lived his entire life.

      Ralph and Marianne (Boyle) married on June 17, 1962 in Butte.   They reared their family of five children in Butte.

      Ralph served in the U.S. Air Force until 1960.   Returning to the civilian work force, he was employed by Eliel's Department Store in Dillon as a buyer.   Ralph spent 17 years of his life with Hennessy's in Butte.   At the time of the store's closing he was the merchandise manager.

      He was self employed for a short time as an insurance agent.   Following that Ralph was the assistant manager at Hillsteads, also in Butte.

      He also was employed for a short time as a special education aide for School District No. 1 in Butte.

    Most recently, Ralph returned to school and acquired a bachelor of science degree in business administration.   He completed that accomplishment by obtaining Certified Public Accountant status.

      However, Ralph's lifelong dream of owning his own bar was realized.   At the time of his death he was the owner of the Mint Bar in Butte.

      Ralph participated in many civic and community roles such as a school board member and the Boy Scouts organization.

      Survivors include his wife, Marianne;   sons and daughters-in-law, Charlie and Sharon La Fleur of Georgia, Patrick and Dori La Fleur of Butte;   daughter and son-in-law Eileen and Larry Hill of Helena; daughter Elizabeth La Fleur of Butte;   son Tom La Fleur of Butte;   grandchildren Charles and Justin La Fleur, Shailyn La Fleur and Deianeira Hill;   sister, Nancy Shultz and numerous nieces and nephews.

      He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Vienna and Emil Lampi; and a sister Mary Elizabeth La Fleur.

      Funeral services will be at Duggan Dolan Mortuary, with the funeral mass at St. John's Catholic Church at a day and time to be announced.   Graveside burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

      Memorials: charity of donors choice.
