Robert Michael May   50

      Memorial services are pending for former game warden Robert M. May, 50, of Deer Lodge, who died Tuesday in the Butte hospital from complications of prolonged paralysis.

      He was born in Butte May 13, 1938, to Michael and Ruth May and received his education in Divide and Butte schools.   He married the former Linda Horsfall Sept. 29, 1962 in Butte.

      Mr. May worked in Butte for GE Credit Bureau, Don's Office Machines as a typewriter mechanic, and Wirtz Office Supply.

      In September 1963 he became a game warden for the state Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks.   The job took him to Miles City, Great Falls, Missoula, Baker, Drummond and Deer Lodge.   He retired in 1976 when he was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident while on duty.

      Prior to the accident, Mr. May was active in Boy Scout organiztions.   He was a member of Demolay in Butte, the National Rifle Association and the North American Hunting Club.   He also was an honorary member of the Montana Law Enforcement Museum.

      Survivors include his wife, son Donald and daughter Bobbi, all of Deer Lodge; and his mother of Butte.

      Memorials are preferred to the youth education programs of the National Rifle Association or to the Montana Law Enforcement Museum.   Jewell Funeral Home is in charge.
