Robert M. Wehrle   67

      Robert M. Wehrle Sr. of Helena died Sunday in the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Fort Harrison.

      He was born on June 21, 1937, at Twin Bridges, to Milton and Evelyn (Olson) Wehrle.   He was raised in Butte and graduated from Butte High School.


      Robert then entered the Navy and served during the Korean War.   After the service he returned to Butte, where he worked as a butcher for Pay-An-Takit, Sigman Meats and various meat cutting jobs throughout Butte.

      He married Virginia Cooper in 1960 in Butte.

      Robert enjoyed fishing and hunting.

      He belonged to the Meat Cutters Union and Road Runners Car Club.

      His parents and daughter, Patricia Wehrle, preceded Robert in death.

      Survivors include his son, Robert M. Wehrle of Helena;   daughter, Judith Colebank of Helena;   grandchildren, Misty, Katrina and Britnay of Helena, Michael of Portland;   brother, Bill and Sue Wehrle of Butte.

      A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Twin Bridges Cemetery at Twin Bridges.

      K&L Mortuaries of Twin Bridges is in charge of arrangements.
