Obituary notice for
Sharon Lynn (Bury) Dudden,   79
Aug. 30, 1939   ~   Jul. 02, 2019

Sharon Dudden was born on August 30, 1939 in Billings, Montana.   She passed away on the afternoon of July 2, 2019 at St. James Healthcare, surrounded by her loving family.   Sharon was raised in Butte.   She attended Blaine Elementary School and graduated from Butte High School in 1957.   Sharon married Arch Dudden on September 5, 1958.   They were married for 53 wonderful years.

Sharon had many careers throughout her life.   Before she married, she worked at the Finlen Hotel with her sister, Pat.   Other jobs included a telephone operator for Mountain Bell, assistant manager & loan officer at Safeway Federal Credit Union, and receptionist for Dr. Shutey's dental office.   After retirement, Sharon's true passion was taking care of her husband Arch.   Her constant concern for others over herself was evident in the loving care she provided for him.   She was an amazing wife to Arch, until he passed in 2011.

Arch and Sharon were blessed with two children, Lynn in 1959 and Gary in 1964.   Gary and his wife Barbie had two girls, Alyssa and Shayna.   Her granddaughters were truly the love of her life.   Because of her fun-loving personality and caring nature, Sharon was "Mom" to all of Lynn and Gary's friends, and later became "Grandma Sharon" to all of Alyssa and Shayna's friends, teammates, and extended family.   Grandma Sharon never missed a dance competition, recital, game, or school function.   She was always armed with a purse full of Tootsie Rolls, and could always be found handing them out to all of her new friends.

Grandma Sharon loved knitting, crocheting, ceramics, gardening, collecting Beanie Babies, and cooking.   Most of all, she loved spending time at the family cabin on Georgetown Lake.   Every Sunday, her family joined her for home cooked meals that were always big enough to feed an army.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Lynn Dudden;   son, Gary (Barbie) Dudden;   granddaughters, Alyssa and Shayna Dudden;   sisters in law, Ginny Bury, Sherry Bury, and Barbie (Howard) Wynn; and many nieces and nephews, too numerous to name.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Arch Dudden;   mother and father;   brothers, Sunny Bury, Jim (Charolett) Bury, Butch Bury, Ted (Cathy) Bury, and Ben Bury;   sisters, Mary (Ben) Weldon, Jeanette (Tom) O'Brien, Alice / Muggs (Jack) Stark, Margaret (Art) Kerner, and Patricia Hanley.

Grandma Sharon will be fondly remembered for her warm hugs, loving spirit, sweet smile and the way she welcomed everyone with open arms, whether she met you minutes ago, or knew you for years.

The Dudden Family would like to give a special thank you to Senior Solutions, Copper Ridge, Big Sky Senior Living, and St. James Healthcare for the wonderful care they provided to Grandma Sharon.

Friends may call on Tuesday after 12:00 PM (noon) in St. Ann’s Catholic Church.   Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM. Rite of Committal will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery.   Contributions may be made to Mariah's Challenge, or charity of donor's choice.
