Sharon Ruth Swensen, 76, of Lodi, died Sunday, March 6th at home.   Mrs. Swensen was born in Butte, Montana to JT (Jack) and Ruth Nankervis.   After teaching elementary school for a number of years in Oregon, she moved to the Stockton / Lodi area of California and was a teacher there for 36 years in the Stockton Unified School District.   She retired in 2004.   After retirement Mrs. Swensen was an active member of the Assistance League of Stockton and an avid card player.

      Mrs. Swensen was preceded in death by her parents and by husband William Swensen and is survived by her son Eric Swensen (Amy) of Elk Grove;   grandson Bryce Swensen of Elk Grove;   sister Betty Thurston of Liberty, Missouri;   brother Jack Nankervis of Seattle, Washington and nieces Laurie Eyman, Andrea (Orvie) Mattson, and Leanna (Brent) Lawrence, and nephew, John (Cheryl) Nankervis with several grand-nieces and nephews.

      At Mrs. Swensen's request, there will be no services.   Memorials are preferred to the Assistance League of Stockton, PO Box 7766, Stockton, CA 95267.
