Thomas Matthew Quayle   63

      Thomas M. Quayle died Wenesday in St. James Healthcare.

      He was the son of the late Tom and Mary Quayle.   Tom graduated from Sherman school in Walkerville, Butte High and then earned his bachelor of arts degree in motion picture and television production from Montana State at Bozeman.   During the summer Tom worked for the Anaconda Co. in the mines and smelter.

      After graduation Tom became a second lieutenant in the Army, completing his training at Fort Benning, Ga.   He then traveled extensively throughout the United States, Africa, Europe, Far East, South America and Vietnam photographing and producing motion pictures for the military and government documentation.

      Upon completion of his military adventures he worked for Walt Disney Studios filming on some of the Disney animal productions.   Albert Finney of film fame, at one point in his illustrious career, had the great opportunity of working with Tom.

      The call of Montana and family brought Tom back to Butte where he could spend time with his parents.   Tom enjoyed bird hunting, fly-fishing, photographing nature and trap shooting.   The Big Hole River and Yellowstone National Park were Tom's favorite locations.   During winter months Tom enjoyed talking by amateur radio to many friends he had made around the world.   Tom was an extra class operator holding the call letters W7ARR.

      Tom worked at Silver Bow TV and then the post office as an electronic technician.   He belonged to the National Rifle Association, ARRL, Butte Amateur Radio Club and many trap shooting clubs in southwestern Montana.

      He was preceded in death by uncles, Matt Brozovich, John Kovacich, Bob Quayle, Brud Church, Jack Church and aunts, Kate Church, Violet Quayle, and Greta Quayle.

      Survivors include his aunts, Angeline Maloney of California, Francis Church and Florence Kovacich of Butte and Inez Brozovich of Walkerville; several cousins and their families.

      Tom's remains have been cremated and services are 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick's Church.
