William Henry Baron   51

      Funeral services for William Henry Baron, 51, who worked around the world as an electrical engineer, will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Duggan Dolan Mortuary, 213 N. Montana with the Rev. Kenneth Reed officiating.

      Mr. Baron died at his residence at 15 E. Granite Tuesday.

      A Butte native, he was born March 24, 1937 to William and Anna Baron.   He attended local schools and graduated from Butte High School in 1956.   Mr. Baron was in the Marine Reserves from 1954 to 1960.

      He attended the University of Port Arthur, Texas, where he studied electrical engineering.   He also went to Montana Tech and while there worked at KXLF as chief engineer.   Mr. Baron received his doctoral degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, meanwhile working at KPAC radio and television in Austin as chief engineer.   He also attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for two years.

      He joined RCA in Philadelphia as chief electrical engineer in 1965, followed by a year in Milwaukee, Wis., television station.   In 1968 Mr. Baron was employed by the U.S. Government as an engineer in Saudi Arabia, and he held a chief electrical engineer post for the Public Broadcasting system in Pago Pago, Samoa.   He also worked in Turkey, Australia, New Zealand and other overseas locations.

      Upon returning to Butte, he owned Montana Barber Supply, and most recently operated Bill's TV Repair at 15 E. Granite.

      His hobbies and interests included carpentry, remodeling old homes, photography, ham radios, camping and fishing.

      He is survived by his mother in Butte;   and sisters, Gloria Stiner of Anaconda and Florence Clement of Sandy, Utah.

      Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery.   Memorials are preferred to St. Mark Luthern Church or to charity.
