I married Ivan Stepan in Butte in 1956 then moved to Spokane,
Washington where I worked for a private law firm for two years until
Ivan graduated
from Gonzaga, University. We then moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1958
and lived there for twenty-two years.
I have three boys; Fred is a
Chief
Financial Officer for a firm in Texas; Ivan followed his dad’s
footsteps
and is a Chemical Engineer for a firm in Idaho Falls; and Anthony is a
Bio-Chemist for a firm in Seattle. My five grandchildren range in age
from 6 months to 19.
While in Idaho Falls, I worked for a private law
firm and an oil company. In 1980 we felt fortunate to be able to move
back to Butte because of a good job opportunity for Ivan. I worked for
Manager of the Butte Airport and then the Legal Department of Montana
Power Company during which time I attended night classes at Montana
Tech and received my Associate Degree.
I retired from Montana Power
Company in 1996. I am enjoying my retirement years visitng our three
children
and five grandchildren; the oldest is not attending University of Santa
Clara,
California. Ivan and I enjoy playing duplicate bridge at both the local
clubs and regional state tournaments; we especially enjoy traveling. I
do volunteer work for the Lady of the Rockies and substitute in the
Butte elementary school system.
