After High School I joined the Montana National Guard with Bobby Kinivel and Don
Shurtz ( Company Clerk and Radar O'Reilly.)   Received my BA degree from UM
in 1962.   -Commissioned as 2nd LT and did 27 years on active duty.   (The
oldest living Major in the US Army.)  Between tours in Vietnam, received my
MA in Education, History, Polictial Science, Speech and Sociology from UM.   (A
professional student).   Second tour in Vietnam, I was a Infantry Company
Commander for 11 months.
   
Awards:
Combat Infantryman Badge, Air Metal, Bronze Star- 1st Oak Leaf luster, Meritorious
Service Meal, Army Commendation Medal with V , Korean Metal of Honor, Good Conduct
Medal (never would have guessed it).   And other stuff to include a Purple
Heart (damn it, keep your head down).   Served as project officer for the
Department of Defense = 60 military child care centers for the Army, Navy, Airforce
and Marines.   Head of Fort Hood Child Care centers - biggest centers in the
United States.
   
Retired Professor Emertis at Central Texas College after 26 years.   Was head
of the Early Childhood Professions Department.   Had a book published intitled,
Room to Grow.   Selected as Texas Teacher Educator of the Year 2012.
   
Married Connie Griffin from Butte, had three wonderful children.   Married CAPT.
Karen Kinnan and had two step-daughters.   I was married 40 years and it only
took me two wives to get there.   I have 11 beautiful grandchildren.   Lost
Karen to a liver disease 3 years ago.   Three wives wouldn't be bad.
