I worked as a warehouseman in San Francisco for 20 years before finally
getting a journalism degree in 1983.   I worked for San Francisco
Bay Area newspapers for 18 years and now work from home as an editor
for an IT research and consulting company.   Home, for the past
three years, has been Brevard a small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains of
North Carolina.

My wife, Mary, and I just celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary.   I have
a son, Steven, 34, who lives in Reno.

In 2009, I won a Gold Medal the National Senior Games in Palo Alto in the 5K
for men 70-74 in a time of 21:27.   In the 1,500 meters (100 meters less
than a mile), I won a Silver Medal in a time of 5:45.   (I was never much
of an athlete when I was young, so this was quite a thrill).
