If the Gore had asked for a recount in every state (RIGHT FROM THE START, instead of not offering it until it was legally too late) instead of trying to game the system, then I don't think the Bush camp would have gone to the manipulative extremes they did to game it in the other way. IMNSHO. I know it's legal, but so is what the Bush team did. Count EVERY vote, not just 3 counties.

I think Tom's suggestion is best, but I've never been one to be able to control myself.

First my email is changing from uswest to qwest. Now for the "MYTH". I have no problem with them counting the ballots, nor did Bush's team. The problem was that the way they were counting the ballots was slipshod at best. There was not any standard for the count. Every state that used this punch card ballot had the problem with them. Someplace it comes down to the voter to follow directions to complete the ballot as instructed. MIT and Cornell university's have been tasked with coming up with a more reliable "idiot proof" way of voting.

G'Day Trefor,
Just dropped in for a visit. I have to agree with all who wrote in response to your story about Harley. My father bought a Labradore whaen I was a boy. Dad wanted a hunting dog, but "jake" was not up to Dad's expectations until I trained him. We ended up with one of the most intelligent, obedient, and loved animals you could hope to meet. After fourteen years, I had to have my old mate put down because of the effects of old age and cancer. That was atleast twlve years ago, and I still miss him.

Hi Trefor:
I thoroughly enjoyed your site. I think you are making wonderful use of your time, your website it wonderful, alot of work. I am only taking my first course in html, and it is alot of work, so I can appreciate all your efforts. I specifically adored your story about your dog Harley. May I offer my sincere sympathies, and hope they are of some comfort to you. This was a truly dedicated page to your beloved friend, and it shows how much you loved him. My husband and I are going through a similar time, our chocolate lab is 14 years old, and has spinal nerve damage, because of old age deterioration of the spinal cord. She is losing the feeling in her back legs and having difficulty walking. It is heartbreaking to watch this happen, and we are not sure what will lie ahead for us.
Your harley story touched my heart, and has helped me with my situation. Thank you. Denise, from Pennsylavnia.

Harley's tribute is beautiful. I can tell he was a loving soul, and I know he is now your guardian angel. Whenever you happen to feel a breeze just over your shoulder, take comfort in knowing that it is Harley's breath sighing gently in your ear. As "Mom" to four furkids, three of whom are 8 or older, I know too soon I will have to deal with the grief you are feeling. You are not alone, and I send you sincere wishes for memories to comfort you. Isn't that how Harley would want it?
