The square 'picture frame' on the right, shown here upside down, is
actually a piece of small crown moulding.
The edge of the square back plate on the left is cut at an angle to match
the inside angle of the crown moulding frame.
That angle was copied from the frame using the antique Stanley tool
shown at the bottom of the picture.
