In Memory of
Rose Frances (Tomich) Vidrich,     96

Aug. 06, 1917   ~   Nov. 26, 2013

Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Rose Tomich Vidrich, 96, passed away at the Copper Ridge Health and Rehab Center on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013.

Born Rose Frances Tomich on Aug. 6, 1917, to Tony and Mary Rodda Tomich, she lived her life in Butte and Whitehall.   In her early years, Rose was a waitress at the Rocky Mountain Cafe, Lydia’s and the Finlen Hotel.   Many stories were told of those years.   While raising three children, she worked at the Shoetorium repairing shoes.   After completing studies, she worked as a dietitian at St. James Hospital.   She met the love of her life, George.

Mom was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her family.   She always believed in a balanced and nutritional meal.   We are sure that is why she lived many years.   She made the best povitica, especially her egg povitica.   We all try to make it, but none of us has succeeded.

Mom enjoyed socializing and hosted many card parties, mostly pinnacle, which she was a wiz.   Rose always had a joke to tell and even told the more flavored of them to the grandkids, which didn’t please the parents.   But, she believed in treating them as adults —which they loved.   She loved the outdoors and enjoyed many hunting camps.

She was blessed with many skills — drawing, painting, sewing and crafts.   When we were in grade school, she made beautiful valentine boxes for us to share with classmates.

Rose leaves behind her husband, George of 58 years;   her daughters, Rose Marie and husband, John Ralph, Delores and husband, Larry Fischer;   son, Tony and wife, Sherry Rebich;   brother, Joe Tomich;   sisters, Dorothy Vidrich and Helen Vidrich;   brother-in-law, Art Vidrich;   sister-in-law, Dorothy Dody;   nine grandchildren, Dan Weldon and Brandi, Tedd and Sarah Weldon, Todd Weldon, Dena Aldrige, Doug and Sandy Deberti, Lance and Myra Fischer, Lisa Kinn, Tammy Svejkovsky and Tony Rebich Jr.;   18 great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Matthew Weldon, Regan and Prestynn Weldon, Shane and Bradley DeBerti, Mandy Buoni, Maverick and Cody Richardson, Kaylie Aldrige, Montana and Edie Fischer, Karly and Katelyn Kinn, David and Diane Cuchine, Sheylene Svejkovsky, Tony Rebich III and Mercedes and Mikala Rebich;   and six great- great-grandchildren.

Rose was preceded in death by her, daughter Diane Arlene Vidrich Weir;   her parents, Tony and Mary Tomich;   her brothers, Tony, Martin and Rudy Tomich;   and her sisters, Mary Tomich, Steffie Sporich, Ann Stefanac, Katie Schumacher, Pauline Rolston and Margaret Voss.

We offer special thanks to Josette, Linda, Kadie and Shelby of Rocky Mountain Hospice, and to Maura, Barbara, April, Katie and our angel, Konnie of Copper Ridge Health and Rehab.

Friends are asked to join the family for visitation at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Butte.   Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.

Memorials may be made to donor’s choice.

Axelson Alternative Cremation is privileged to serve the Vidrich family.
